Program Goals
Establish a database of at least 250 fruit tree owners willing to donate extra fruit, train 6 gleaning leads, and increase the number of gleaning volunteers to 100, so that we can harvest 2-3 times per week year-round and donate at least 15,000 lbs of fruit per year.

What is Gleaning?
Too often, our neighbors in need face barriers to accessing healthy food, while food banks struggle to stock fresh produce. What if the fruits of your labor—quite literally—could make a difference? Instead of letting surplus produce go to waste, you can share it with those who need it most.
With the help of our passionate and experienced volunteers, Forestr.org gleans fresh fruits and vegetables year-round. This produce is delivered directly to food banks, pantries, and, in some cases, individuals in need. Together, our donors and volunteers form a powerful partnership—helping to feed our community while reducing food waste. A simple act of sharing can make an extraordinary impact on someone’s life.
