The pilot
A funny name for a serious cleanup
Clean Your Butt is a Forestr.org pilot program launching in the San Francisco Bay Area. We identify the places our communities already know are covered in cigarette litter — transit stops, beach entrances, park edges, bar districts — and we fund volunteer crews to clean them, count what they collect, and report it publicly.
The program is powered by local Rotary clubs and community volunteers, and funded by sponsors who’d rather laugh at the name than look away from the problem. Every dollar raised goes to putting crews on the ground: event costs, safety gear, grabbers, gloves, and disposal.
